Keep in mind that Brazilian Mahindras are built in Brazil at Mahindra By Bramont. The trucks we will get are being built in India. Nothing against the Brazilian manufacturing operation, but maybe Mahindra will have tighter control of their quality process in-house.
To reiterate Joe’s comment: Mahindra knows full well that the trucks, and the level of customer service will have to be extraordinary in the US or they will die on the vine. I am certain they aren’t striving to be the next Yugo. We all know that even the mighty Toyota isn’t immune to technical and public relations issues. Mahindra will certainly be under even closer scrutiny.
Damn, I find myself defending Mahindra so much, I think they should give me a truck!
