Default business school 101

I'm not so sure we'll be hearing anything by Friday unless it's good news. The statement read something like "in about two or three weeks". Also, some references are saying "by the end of the month", which is closer to four weeks. I am also seeing predictions like "on sale by the end of 2010". The worst thing they can do is set a date they can't deliver by, so I don't mind if they want to be vague- they're the ones that keep saying "under promise and over deliver".
Some of us should feel like we're being strung along, and for good reason- we have been. No company likes to see customers walk away, but sometimes that's the best policy. A few years back my business was so busy that I had over a year's backlog. Any new customers that called I would tell upfront that it would be at least a years wait; some didn't want to wait so I let them walk. Because I was open with them, I didn't have a bunch of people calling every week to ask when am I going to get to them, and I could concentrate on doing my work. Most people appreciate being told the truth even if it isn't what they want to hear, and most people become annoyed and upset if they are strung along. That seems to be what I'm hearing a lot of in this forum- annoyed and upset people, and the responsibility can be lain right on the doorstep of Global Vehicles for not speaking the difficult truth. If they want to withhold a definite delivery date because they really can't say, I'd say it's about time.
