Honestly from other things I have read over the last couple of years the trucks are built heavy duty with cast iron components much thicker than the competition. I bet there is at least 200-300 lbs of just reinforced components compared to peers. I bet with mileage being so important that the next generation of trucks switches some materials out for something lighter weight.
Still 4400 lbs is a far cry from 5000+ for a 150/1500 series truck.
