I’ve honestly had enough of the chatter around this story. Lawsuits happen all the time, and they get settled in due course. For Mahindra (and all of us fans) I hope the settlement is sooner rather than later. I don’t know if it will cause another delay, but I do not think it will deter Mahindra from reaching their goal of launching in the U.S. Based on comments by the company, they’ve invested heavily in this launch. What might happen though is another delay which yes, will be frustrating, but I’ll still be waiting as there are no other midsize diesels in the market right now.

I think Max465 is familiar with the story of GV and the lawsuit (as are all of us who have been following these trucks on this site and others), and the suggestion is we all stay focused on the main event, which is the impending arrival of an Indian pickup truck that will turn the compact pickup market on its head. Given that one reason for the lawsuit is the extensive and perhaps unnecessary delays in getting to market, and given that GV and M&M's "chatter" is that there could result more delays blamed on the lawsuit, and given that the only news we have is about the activities of the companies involved and not about the trucks, I don't see how anyone could ignore the news of the dispute, or why they should. It's the only news we've got.
Perhaps now would be a good time for some party to begin releasing more information about these trucks- give us something to look at and talk about directly related to these vehicles. We were calling them Appalachians, then TR20 and TR40, now that is even in question. When will they show up, what year model it will be, what the fuel economy numbers will be, etc. etc. - the list of facts that we don't have is impressive. The most exciting things we have to discuss are what other manufacturers are doing, and that's not the way it should be on a forum whose focus was intended to be on Mahindra trucks. So let us talk about the Mahindra-Global Vehicle soap opera, or give us something more interesting to talk about. |

You're right, Forest- that is a piece of information that may not be available right now (although it looks like M&M could have gotten the EPA business taken care of by this time). That detail may connect to or support theories proffered in other threads. My point was just that if the people at GV didn't want the people at this forum to focus on discord, they might be able to dig up some of the information we lack about these trucks to distract us, or remind us that the purpose of all their efforts are to get trucks to the dealers here. After all, if they're the distributor for the Mahindra vehicles then public relations is part of their job- maybe not a part of the contract, but sympathetic with their goals. I'd imagine they can't discuss any ongoing litigation, but they can talk about trucks and keep on their game face.
