Default Diesels gaining favor

Register to stop seeing this ad!

I was very disappointed in 2009 to read the BMW sales for diesels fell way short of their projections. I thought that may stall Mahindra. But the following article suggests is no longer true:

German diesel power gains favor with U.S. car buyers - USATODAY.com

If anybody else has good articles that shows how BMW and Mercedes diesel sales are doing, please post them. Everybody expected Volkswagon to do well, and they are. But I think that is becuase they had such good diesels yeas ago.

I;ve heard VW can't keep a diesel on the lot. I saw some of the new Ford Fiesta's on the lot today so I did a drive-by . What a disappointment only 37mpg ,,,what a joke, Ford has been bragging for at least a year that it should be rated at 42mpg ..The European model gets 65mpg... And if my math is right that would be 52mpg to the USA gallon?

The Euorpean test cycle is substantially different than ours. Plus, I'm pretty sure that Fiesta has a diesel option in Europe, most likely accounting for that large number discrepancy.

You need to spend a few more bucks to get the Festiva SFE
29 city, 40 Highway, 33 combined.

Default FORD only knows Gas

Those MPG numbers are a real shame for such a light and tiny car. FORD seems locked into gasoline designs.

My Jetta gets 48-51 MPG highway, 43-44 city and has enough real room to be comfortable.

Really sad part is I might have to buy a 2012 Ranger with an eco-boost gasser . . . as it seems a Mahindra TR20 is not really going to be available anytime soon. And yes, I know FORD has not said there will be a 2012 Ranger but it's more likely then a 2012 TR20.

Mahindra I want: TR20 4x4, more likely a Jeep 2012 that is based on Gladiator concept of 2005

I'm not a betting man but I would almost put money on a new Ranger getting here in 2012 before the Mahindra?
