From pickuptruck.com 2/11/2008

In late 2007, the portal interviewed John Perez, the chief executive of Global Vehicles USA, the Alpharetta, Georgia-based automotive import company that will assist M&M to launch versions of its Scorpio SUV and Pik-up from mid-2009.

"I was just advised that by 2010 we'll have a diesel hybrid pickup (for sale in the US market). It will be available for the two-door and four-door pick-ups, and the SUV," Perez is quoted as saying.

Default Sound Familiar?

Well.......I for one have made an initial investment in taking my 92 Ranger and completely going through it. I figure I'll have 3K into it by the time I am done and will know exactly what I have when it is finished. That brings me to another point...I will know when it is finished! No more guess work, no more speculating. M&M lost out on my business and I will go with something that has proven itself time and time again (buy American)!

I agree, that is very hard to believe that a company that is serious about putting a new car in the market this Spring, would not have made any effort AT ALL to market itself.
I am starting to believe that they will not have a car here in 2010.
If any of you read the news print in 2008, the were quite sure the care would be here, by the latest, Fall of 2009. So, what does it tell us... no word from them at all, that is what piss me off the most!! The guy of the marketing devision should be Hanged, pissing off Mahindras first 200 buyers !

I am in no hurry, I don't need anything right now.
Hopefully it makes it here in the first half of this year so we can get some on the road and start getting some feedback.

Hay,

I actually got an answer from GV.

I asked:

I've been waiting for a while now for a Mahindra truck. Now it says on
MahindraTruckForums.com that my local dealer, Cotman Ford, won't have
the trucks til September. What's the story. I have to get a truck soon
and I can't afford to take a chance waiting for another 8 months.

They Replied:
Mahindra trucks will be available around Spring 2010. Thank you.

It is sad to say, but I won't believe anything till I see a dealer open and selling them. It is unfortunate, but I don't know if I trust GV/M&M quite yet...

Well, you know, with inflation and the falling dollar, the longer they wait, the more money they'll make per truck when they finally do arrive in the US.

Yeah, but by then we might have to pay in Rupees. I'm not sure if I could even carry the 8,226,667,337,777, 230,222,339 Rupees it would cost.
