Default Question on towing

Do we know if a plug for a brake controller is available on Mahindra truck? I hope for one, because it would save a lot of money.

Maybe one of the dealers picked up that information if they went to India on an inspection tour, but that isn't a piece of information I've seen. The spec sheet does mention a towing package as an option, but doesn't elaborate.

I never noticed that, I am hoping it comes with a brake controller. Hopefully within a couple of weeks GV and M&M start to release a little more details pertaining to the trucks.

Yes, it should have an option for brake control prewiring. I wouldn't be surprised if there were a few things missing on the intial release.

I'm betting it means a hitch platform, and 4-7 wire connector. Maybe a remote tranny cooler or larger one in the radiator. Controller wiring or even a full controller are relatively new even to the domestics.
then again, our guess is as good as theirs...

(in any event, controllers don't cost much to purchase and are simple to install.)

cheers,

As most of MnM's trucks sold around the world are standard transmissions, I'm bettin the idea of a tranny cooler for the automatic has slipped by them. We shall see......

Being such a light duty truck I doubt that it will come standard or even as an option. Most towing I bet will be under 4000 lbs and will make it a superfluous option IMHO.

Being from possibly the hottest country on the planet I bet they understand the need for proper cooling and will have this addressed.

One of my best friends is from Mumbai where the trucks are made and it is 100-125 degrees there 10 months out of the year and only 90 during the monsoon season.

The preinstalled brake control wiring has been around since 1999 on the Chevys, I know for sure. Definitely not new technology.

Even if they don't have it, it's not difficult to add. It only requires one wire from the controller to the rear of the truck. Power and ground can be handled under the hood, and the brake pedal signal wire is easy to tap off off under the dash.

this does bring up a question. Does anyone know the actual size of the brakes? I remeber that is if all disk brakes with ABS but not actual rotor size.
