Next to zero diesel smell anymore due to the fuel being ULSD. Once the biodiesel rating increases we call all look forward to having the trucks smell like french fries instead. Yum!

No diesel smell in the cab at all, a bit wafts around outside if the air is heavy after I've just shut her down, and Blue has NO emissions controls.

All good suggestions.
Take her points as valid interest and opinion. Concentrate on the savings, 30 mph compared to 17 mpg over a one year driving 15000 miles that you could spend on her. Concentrate on the saving between a full sized and the new Mahindra that you could spend on her. Show her how it will carry a couch and lawn supplies that she chooses.
A truck is like a dog, it is your friend. Explain that yes, old diesels smell, but this is using the same new technology from the high end luxury diesels. A woman needs to be heard.
A man needs action. Make it a conversation, a date to look at the truck in the afteroon, than you take her shopping and dinner. By dessert she will see that you actually want the truck and she will feel honored you wanted her opinion. Take your time.

Jackson good point. You will want to concentrate on the things that will benefit her. Let her know it will make you happy to buy this truck which in turn will make her happier. Also stress the money you will save on fuel in order to buy her more presents ;-). Good luck!

My girlfriend also made a comment about how ugly it was and I told her we're not married yet. Ha

She will not smell diesel in the mahindra inside or outside. The engine is very quiet (almost to quite if you like the sound of a big diesel). You could almost get away with telling her its a gas motor that needs a valve adjustment.

Just dont let her refuel it!

You should also remind her that beauty is not something to be relied upon for a long term commitment.
