Default Waiting in Kansas City, MO

I am a Suzuki Samurai owner.

My fellow Zukers have longed for a replacement for our Samurais. Alas, it is apparent that the models that have followed - Most notably the Jimny - will never hit the US market.

Mahindra has offered somewhat of an alternative with the TR-20/TR-40:

Basic small truck, diesel power, part-time 4wd, practical (and different) transportation.

I have compared the costs of a full-sized Diesel truck (as many of you have probably done, too) to the Mahndra and have discovered that, for what I want to do I can save upwards to $25,000 compared to, say a SuperDuty Ford Diesel.

I don't need to haul 11,000 pounds. I don't need heated leather seats and power everything. I need something that can pull my 2300-pound Samurai on a two-axle trailer to somewhere other than the poor-house. I want a truck that I might be able to mod for offroading. I want the Mahindra TR-series pickup truck!

Soon I will find out if this truck is the real deal I have been waiting for...

Same here. I just learned about these trucks recently and can't wait to test drive one. Be sure to sign up for info on test drives on Mihandra's website. I wonder where the dealership will be or if they are using the tractor dealers to sell the vehicles? I look forward to getting hold of a Scorpio.

Hi Diesel! Welcome to the site and the waiting game! Our friend Chris in his blog Mahindra Planet keeps track of the dealers who have announced. Mahindra Clean Diesel Pickup Trucks and SUVs , the importer's website, also has a map, but it doesn't list names and the "dots" aren't 100% accurate.

Thanks Pete I really appreciate the info! I'm a newly graduated diesel mechanic in search of work and I had the idea just now that it would be very cool to get on with the local dealer in the early stages of it's launch here in the USA. Your info is MUCH appreciated!

No problem dude. Don't be shy, ask questions, we're all learning about this new manufacturer and truck together...
Best of luck w/ your work search!

Default KC Mahindra Dealers...

At this point, I know two of the Kanasa City Dealers, Diesel:

Dick Smith Ford, Raytown, MO
(source - Sales person at dealership)

Olathe Ford, Olathe Kansas
(source - Sales person at Auto Show)

Pop on by and see if they are hiring!

ack sounds like you and I are on the same page. Ever since I saw this truck I have been thinking that it is something that will allow me a new version of the Sami. I have owned a Sami or a Tracker in some form since I have been able to drive. I like that they have only the basics and are easy to work on. I am hoping that the Mahindra will be the next generation as I have given up on Suzuki ever bringing the cool stuff (Jimny) back to the US.
