Register to stop seeing this ad! How big do you think the Scorpio will be?I have been disappointed about the prospects of a killer Scorpio after reading about 5600 pound Scorpios hitting the market with the 2.2 liter diesel. That makes me think that is what we will be getting in the future. I was hoping for something the size of the Ford Escape, which would be a dream vehicle with a diesel. I was especially hopeful after Mahindra hired the person in chrage of developing the Escape hybrid. |

I'd bet $100 that the Scorpio is a little longer than the Escape, think Equinox in size. It is a 7 seater afterall.
Supposedly a year after the Scorpio there will be a larger full on luxury SUV with the size to boot. |

I think you'd have to sit in one before you can say for sure about the leg room. Remember, this is what the trucks are based on, and everyone comments about how they are tall for a truck- maybe you sit up straighter and have more leg room. Either way though, it sounds like a poor fit for adults- I had heard mentioned on the Indian sites that the back-most seats are cramped and uncomfortable for a long ride- like through the mountains over rough roads. Talk about low power- imagine 7 people (and luggage tied on top), air conditioning going, trying to haul up an incline with the 2.2l engine.

I bet the last row is for children only. Most smaller CUV/SUV's with three rows of seating have the last row as children only. I think that is great for a lot of people. Maybe they'll have a thrid row optional so those who only want 5 seats and more cargo space can get a Scorpio too. |

I would be content with an Equinox. We have them at work, and I think I would not mind owning something similar if it had a diesel since it would increase gas mileage. Though I like driving something the size of an Escape, it would have been too small when our kids were younger; I would have prefered something like that over the mini-van we used.
