Register to stop seeing this ad! Somebody used to make ~2 foot long camper tops that were sort of a substitute for an extra cab. If those are still available, that would be one way to provide some more cab space for a TR20. |

I've just found this forum and I'll chime in... I need to replace a Nissan 4x4 King Cab. I'll give the Mahindra a shot if it's got enough leg room in its standard cab version... otherwise I'm boned. No love for the 6'5" in the world.

I'm planning to replace my Nissan (standard cab) as well, and I'm looking at the Mahindra standard cab. According to the specs, the TR20 has 41.2" of legroom. By comparison, the Toyota Tacoma standard cab has 41.7". I'm not sure how they measure that, or I would check that against my truck- I don't have the specs on my '93 anymore. The Toyota steering column is a tilt/telescope version, while all that Mahindra promises is tilt, so it may not fit you as well, if you've got patience you can try one for fit sometime next year.
According to what I found online, my Nissan truck has 42.2" leg room, and while I'm not 6' tall I keep the seat most of the way back. By measuring with a tape measure (heel of accelerator to seat back, seat adjusted full to rear) it showed more like 41-1/4", so I'm not sure which is most accurate. It looks like the small pickups are not meant to be driven by tall people. Last edited by pee wee; 12-11-2009 at 08:32 AM. Reason: edited to add new dimensions |
