Default Mahindra v. Winfield, Part II

Unsurprisingly, Winfield has lost. I could gripe about it, but life is too short. If $6 billion international conglomerate, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, wants to waste time and money shaking down...

Sorry to hear that Chris. I totally understand what you are talking about, if they would have just gone about it the right way, it wouldn't have been a big deal.

No problems for you Andy? You also have Mahindra in the name of two known web addresses.

M&M did to you Chris what harley did to us "outlaw" harley shops back in the 80's and 90's.At least you didn't have the factory sending their gestapo to your shop 3 or 4 times a years looking for whatever.

Although m&m MAY be the first in the US to offer a diesel pickup (depending if the get their heads outta their....) the big three will follow suit as well as the Japanese auto makers......wait and see.My point,m&m will not be too big here unless they really cut their prices in the not so distant future.

Given more established choices ie:Ford,Jeep,Toyota etc it's my opinion that American consumers would more readily gravitate to those brands and stay away from an unheard of brand like m&m,or stay away from them just because they're dicks.

We've gotten a chance to witness a company (m&m) behaving in what I consider an ugly fashion, so I would be more inclined to buy what I wanted from one of the others. I haven't been so attuned to Ford, Toyota, et al., so there may have been other examples of companies (like the harley example) being unreasonable or outrageous that I'm unaware of. One reason we don't currently have a hard working compact pickup in this market is that companies are afraid to lead the way, and until someone like Mahindra shows up to prove there is an abandoned market here it is unlikely to happen. It is true that the large number of buyers want big, cushy commuters with an open trunk, but there is enough of a market being ignored to justify at least one or two manufacturers' efforts to serve our admittedly small segment. Even if Mahindra never shows up, there is hope they got the ball rolling.

doesn't anyone remeber the true story movie from a few years ago about the engineer who patented the "intermitant windshield wiper" and Ford stole it, ran him out and basically buried the guy for years before he finally won his suit and Ford had to eat their hats, and about $30 million

Chris, you're maintaining a very positive attitude despite all of this. On another note, Mahindra behaving like this isn't anything new among large corporations. When the big Toyota recall happened this past spring, I think many people were shocked that Toyota wasn't in fact some benevolent company making vehicles and spreading peace and love everywhere, but was a large company with one goal in mind: to make as much money as possible. Nothing wrong with that, it's what makes the world go around. My point is that sometimes the term "faceless corporation" is more true than we may realize.
