You're not the first to wonder about that. I think we discovered that "follow me home" headlights are not aptly named, but what they do is stay on for a limited time after you shut off the engine, thereby giving one enough time to get to the door of the house with light from the headlights. Some brands of vehicles automatically do this every time you shut down (maybe only when the headlights were on), and some require you to activate a switch for this function to perform. I haven't seen any detailed description of how the Mahindra lights operate. I believe they have this feature on Mahindra pickups in all their markets, and it will be on the ones sent here, too. Rather than call them "follow me home", it should be "get me to the door" headlights.

I have this feature on my Mustang. They put the lights on a timer so they go off x seconds or minutes after the vehicle is shut down. On my car, it's part of an auto-lights feature, but I've seen them as separate switches also.

Were the sales down under that bad? Cause it looks like they are still trying to sell the 2009's , and it's almost time for the 2011's to hit the lots...

"Epic Sale" rhymes way too closely with "Epic Fail". Bad choice of slogans from the Aussie PR people. Maybe it was an inside joke since they are obviously trying to unload 2009 trucks.

Probably not, I read somewhere that this particular series was not intoduced until mid 2009, so this be just past mid 2010 doesn't make them that outdated. I think the time of introduction of new models is probably later in most countries compared to what we are used to in the USA. Of course they are trying to clear them out for the 2010 models which haven't been introduced in Australia yet as far as I can discern.

Here is another link from a mahindra owner in Africa that might be of interest:
