Default Mahindra Exploring Options to Build Pickups in the US

The Wall Street Journal posted an interview with Anand Mahindra stating that Mahindra is looking for a US facility to build vehicles in the US. No specifics are given about time frame or level of assembly. But it does appear that they do plan to roll trucks out of a US factory at some point.

Seems silly not to. Factories can be bought/leased for very good prices given all the recent downsizing. I would assume it would be the typical bolt them together chicken tax avoidance like with the Sprinter i believe. I can't see them investing in "actual" manufacturing until they sell them here for a few years unless they really think the dollar is going to drop...

If you look at their facility in Brazil it is not very large or sophisticated. Not much larger than an college gym. Bodies moved about on forklifts. Engines moved on dollies. It looked like they had one stamping machine for the doors.
