Register to stop seeing this ad! The Detroit Free Press did report that low price. They got it wrong. It was corrected right away by GV's PR flack in an interview with Mike Geylin, by Mike Sheenan, Auto reporter for Examiner.com. Needless to say it got reposted many times by wannabe cub reporters who were too lazy to check the facts."Various publications such as Truck Trend and Automotive News (sub required) peg the entry level price of the pickup to be in the low 20s. This $22-$24K price is vastly higher than the price of $13-$15K quote by this Detroit Free Press article. This pricing confusion prompted me to contact Global Vehicles to get the full scoop. I was referred by GV to speak with their press liaison, Mike Geylin who set the record straight. Firstly, the Free Press article had a lot of inaccuracies. Geylin said that the headline "Chrysler, Ford dealers join Mahindra group" was not correct as Global Vehicles has not set its target on any one particular group of dealers. Also, the $13-$15K price range was way off base. The pickup will start in the low twenties and work its way up from there." How Much? Last edited by Joe Callimachus; 02-15-2010 at 05:04 AM. It’s a “unique” and highly polarizing design for sure. Frankly, I’m amazed at the split in votes on the Jalopnik poll. I have issues with the slab-sided look and the funny body lines. Not to mention the line from the body to the box on the test mule photo looks strange (like a box that has been over loaded and tweaked on its mounts). My biggest (unfixable) styling obstacle has to be the drip rail that goes all the way around the cab. Makes for very simple stamping tooling, but aesthetically it is hard to pallet. Saying that, I also find it cool in a raw sort of way. Personally, I think a set of wheels and tires would fix a lot of what I don’t like. Those hub covers that stick outside the rim plain have to go! Some wheels with a little more negative offset (and width) would toughen up the trucks overall looks a lot.
Anyone see the “be a dealer” link on the Mahindra NA website?

Maybe we should start a section called, "Attention Dealers", and post links to threads or posts that have questions for dealers?

Yeah, I saw that too. That's quite a list they are sitting on. Figure if even 75% of those names are dreamers, they still have 5,000 people that could be serious. This is a wild guess. Maybe they have 20,000 people ready to go. That's massive. Has Strawberry Frog has been doing some covert work all of us have missed!

Naaa, I do searches every day. I also do a site search for the word mahindra on the Strawberry Frog site. The only mention they have is the Nanhi Kali reference. The only other thing that I ever saw by SF was that Power Point from May 2009 that mentioned the 200,000 mile warranty.
