Register to stop seeing this ad! That may of fact been true back in 2008. Keep in mind inflation, revisions to meet the stringent US standards along with upgrades for us picky Americans and let's not forget the 25% Chicken Tax they have to pay for importing them to the US. Sounds like their original prices were in line at the time. I am a dealer and have always been told from the begining that they will be from the low $20's and up. |

From what I had read, Mahindra had planned to get the chicken tax repealed or if not, then assemble kits to avoid the chicken tax. The 22 -25 thousand price tag is without the chicken tax. If Mahindra brings in trucks made in India, then either the customer or Mahindra or a combination of the two, will pay the chicken tax.
I think both Mahindra and the customer will share the cost. Indirectly that will limit what a dealer can add for mark up, effecting them also.
