Never sure what the Gov is saying but here is a Q&A from me.

Question:

TO:Safercar.gov, at the NHTSA, DOT
Comments:
Has Mahindra submitted their testing data on their new pickup trucks yet?
From NHTSA Web Site.

Answer from them:

For model year 2010 & 2011, data will become available shortly after the vehicles have become available. We have no knowledge right now as to whether or not we will be crash testing any vehicles manufactured by Mahindra.

Thank you for your continued interest in our program.

Yea, that text needs a yoda decrypter. Sounds like they first need a production vehicle and Mahindra has yet to give date or plans for delivery of a production crash test vehicle?

After seeing Chris's new dealer list I e-mailed all the NJ dealers welcoming them to the Mahindra family and said hope they would be in soon.

Only got two responses back so far:

Kevil said "Hopefully this summer"

Holman said "This is an update from Brian Creelman who will be the general manager of the Mahindra store.

At some point during the 4th Quarter. The truck needs to pass the stringent NJ EPA regulations so anyone in Jersey will be waiting until then."

What I got from a company insider who tends to be optimistic about things was "a few more months". Let's wait until they've made their announcement, but I'm not going to be surprised if it is moved to summer or even later.

I'm going to have to ask my great nephew who works for the NJ DEP what they have to do to "certify" a car.

Hey guys, remmember that Mahindra, back in January said that they were hoping to have the trucks in the US by April, and by no means it is the same as have it for sale.
In fact, Edmund.com have stated earlier in the year that the trucks would be available to the public in September, even though they have taken that statement out of their website.
So, it is really nothing new... just desapointing... and hard to wait...

At least Edmunds is showing the starting price of the crew cabs. That's better than nothing.
