Question Verizon Droid?

Anyone get the new Droid phone from Verizon last week? If so, how do you like it? Friend of mine started this forum here: droidforums.net

Have any of you been able to compare it with the iPhone?

The Moto Droid is EXCELLENT and I highly recommend it. It is not a phone for the non-tech savy though, much like the iPhone. And speaking of that, my friend broke his contract to get away from AT&T, also getting rid of the iPhone to move to the Droid. Open source and a GREAT (and quickly growing) App Market make the phone even better. Check it out, you'll dig it!

My website development partner has one, he loves it. I got to play around with it yesterday. It is definitely nicer than the Storm! And the browser is beautiful. Still hooked on my iPhone though. However, I'll bet the Droid will continue to grow cooler.

Yeah, the Droid is good... Apple locks down their products too much, the one thing that kept me away from them, that and AT&T coverage sucks for the most part, at least that is what all my other friends tell me... When your contract is up you should junp ship, the Droid will keep getting better, esp. with almost 1 million units sold...

The iPhone isn't allowed to tether (act as a modem hooked to a laptop) due to AT&T's restrictive software. Does the Droid allow tethering?

They were talking about doing tethering this year, but I think they were going to charge extra. It's funny though, most of my friends with iPhone's have their phones jail broken, which has apps that allow you to tether! Sounds nice, but I wish you didn't have to jail brake to do that.

Yeah I refuse to jailbreak my iPhone in order to get it to do what AT&T should allow it to do anyway. I also have a Palm Pre, which is a great phone as well.

Yeah, I think I'm with you there. Sounds like an easy thing to do, but I have no desire to do it.
