Default Remote car trouble?

Here's a story about a guy who disabled and messed with a bunch of cars from his computer. They were from a used car lot, but it makes me wonder how common this practice is and how much of a problem it could become in the future.

Wow that's crazy. Glad they caught the guy. Imagine if one of those people were in some type of a medical emergency...

I want know what is the idea of a dealer putting on GPS devices to make reposessions easier. I would want a nice discount before I would let a dealer screw arond with my car like that.

BTW, If you can't make the payments, it gets repossessed. That's pretty simple to me...

Looks like somebody needs to better control their method of disabling cars for reposession purposes...

It IS unfortunate that we live in a society where such technologies have found their way into commerce - and the technology can be abused to the harm of innocent and upstanding citizens
