Sorry, I have exaggerated the Tacoma mpg !! The best reported on HWYs from a member of the Tacoma forum was "Averaged 22-23 MPG " V6 4x4 !

I currently have a Subaru Baja. It's been a great car and is fantastic in snow. I regularly get 25 mpg in mixed driving. I can get close to 30 when I find gasoline without ethanol.

It's only rated at 2400 pounds towing. I now have horses and it's not sufficient to tow a horse trailer or haul hay. If you're considering a forester, you're really not in the market for a pickup. A 4 cylinder Tacoma 4X4 will get around 25 mpg and tow 3500 pounds. That would be a much better choice if you need a pickup.

I don't know of any fuel efficient options if you need to a minimum tow rating of 5000 pounds. A F150 with the 3V 4.6L engine will get better mileage than a 6 cylinder Tacoma or Frontier, but it's much too big to be practical for me. I don't want a truck that requires a step to reach over the side of the bed.

There was a very sharp decrease in gasoline demand when prices hit $4 a gallon. All the analysts I hear say it's very unlikely gas will top $4 anytime soon. It's very likely it'll climb to around $3.50 and stay there. The Saudi's think we are getting close to peak demand. The Chinese market is growing very rapidly, but they are making huge investments in electric vehicles. The Chinese government has the power to tell the citizens what type of vehicle to buy and they see the incredible market for electric vehicles that's about to open.

I have yet to talk to anyone with a Canyon 4x4 or 2x4,, 4 cyl. or 5 cyl getting more than 18 mpg.. Someone on here has said you can not get a Ranger 7' bed..Yes you can. It's a fleet option anyway..As for the Taco, lots of problems, they can't keep trany's in them. I use amsoil in my Ranger, I called my Amsoil dealer the other day to get some for the wifes 2010 Highlander and he told me Amsoil had dropped Toyota filter from its line up. Due to sludging and premature wear. They can't guarantee it in a Toyota anymore.. To drop them from the sales catalog is BAD......And to answer the big question "why are we talking about Taco's and Nissan's on the Mahindra site" ..............Verrrrry simple,,,,we don't have a Mahindra to talk about..lolololololololol

We may as well find something else to talk about right !?!
I am telling you, Mahindra is riding my nerves with this darn waiting game. I wish they would say one or the other. If the truck will not be ready until September, so be it, but just let us know. This month to month deal is a nail bitter !!!

2010 Toyo Tundra with the 4.6 V8 gets 20MPG on the highway. Same rating as the 4WD Taco with the V6. 19MPG if you want 4WD in that Tundra. Its a good engine from what I read, really quiet as it is derived from the Lexus LS V8 engine.

No, not Trunda! I used to have a Titan and that was too much! V6 at the most for me, plus I want something that will be more agile and fun to drive than a full size truck!
Cheers!
