just saying that everyone has a different view of what a truck is/should be. No one is right or wrong so long as some product fits their needs.

I don't want a FWD truck either but it doesn't make it less of a truck because it is if it can haul and two what a potential customer might need.

With very few exeptions (the early Ford F100's for example) the standard definition of a 'truck' has long been a cab (and tray) over frame, solid axle vehicle. Any major deviation and it is not a truck, but officially a 'car based pickup'. For example... The Honda Ridgeline is called a 'car based pickup'.

Then cut off your Camry framed Sienna and make a "truck" out of it! LOL

Just remember this old adage, if its stupid but works, it isn't stupid. we may hate the idea of a FWD "truck" or car based "truck" but if they sell profitably and fit the needs of the owners it is therefore a great product.

I did think that one way it would be possible to get a NEW compact diesel pickup (I won't call it a truck) would be to buy a new VW TDI Sportwagon, cut the back off it, and weld up the rear doors. It'd be a brand-new VW "Caddy".

It would do nicely for hauling yard debris to the dump or hauling a motorcycle to the mountains, which are the two main things I need a pickup for.
