Default New Compact Pickups coming...

So then, maybe some competition again in the compact pickup market. Mahindra, you need to get a move on...

I nearly had the cream of the crop, GMC Cyclone, as my first car. Too bad my dad wouldn't spend just a few more bucks on my vehicle. It was only about $1200 more than we were looking at, now it would have appreciated in value. Dang.....

This is probably a good move for GM. The Tacoma lost my interest when it became too big, same for the Colorado. Mileage suffered, maneuverability suffered, and it still wasn't up to the tasks of a full size truck. I wish Ford would breathe new life into the Ranger as well.

Once one company is shown to be successful at this game everyone will jump back in full force. Its the nature of the beast.

Sticking to my guns on this. In the next five years we'll see a whole new crop of small pickups (both unitized and body-on-frame). In addition to the Chevy, Dodge, and Scion products Levine mentions, he was also told by Nissan this winter that they plan to bring back a compact pickup, sized like the Hardbody and 1st gen Frontiers.

Anyone want to bet Ford re-thinks their Ranger decision?

I bet Rod will be a little late to the party but they will join back in. And a year after they jump back in they'll bring the correct powertains, just like they do now. New style/new model and old motors for one year until the new motors come out.

Could be. Recall a bit ago a couple of the new Euro-Rangers were seen testing in LA. I thought at the time that that was a bit unexpected for a vehicle NOT coming to the US...
