the height thing doesn't bother me much since I am 6'5" but it is nearly manditory to get the tailgate step and sissy bar to get up into the back of it.
I read that 11,000.00 on one of the truck sites, I thought it was a little high to. at 6'5 I doubt you have any problems with getting something out of the back of any truck, I'm only 5' 10...

Ford is saying the Ecoboost engine is it's tow horse, replacing the 5.4. I would assume that they would put it in every model the 5.4 is currently available in.

agreed, this will be the most premium engine in the F150 and likely one of the most prevalent if it gets decnt mileage and the best two ratings. hopefully there is enough margin in it for Ford to keep making money, they'll need it since they weren't able t oget rid of the union contracts and pensions like GM and Chryco.

Pretty sure they still assemble F150's in Mexico, but there are a fair number of sub-assemblies done in the US and shipped down so it might be a wash labor-wise...

Man, just look at my terrible grammar. I should learn to proof read before I send stuff, sheesh!

Blue,

I have no doubt that they'll assemble in Mexico to try and keep labor costs down on the F150 but I was referring to Ford as a whole. They weren't able to shed their debts and liabilities like GM and they don't have the presence in the emerging markets like GM. (China, India) Ford may be in the best position for the next year or two but I think in the long run (5+ years) GM will lay waste to them.

My financially educated $.02

Well, maybe. But if GM keeps making them like the '04 Silverado I had, which I sold after 3 years because it was so much trouble, Ford has nothing to worry about. We now have a Fusion, Mustang, and the F350. All of them are outstanding vehicles. (and until that Silverado I was a diehard GM fan (46 yrs))

I have had 2 new Chevy's, and I am still trying to figure out why I bought a second one after so much trouble with the first. And the second one was always in the shop too. I traded the second one in with only 8,000 miles on it. Since that I guess I have had poor view of Chevy. GM would really have to hit a home run to get me back..

My family has typically been a GM family (in terms of trucks and sports cars anyway) but My dad really did like is 05 Ram 2500. I think he is waiting for a 2011-2012 Ram with an updated Cummins engine to replace his 2009 GMC 1500 MAX since it gets so poor fuel economy.

I had a 05 Ram 1500 that I liked but it did have some minor squeaks and rattles that were frustrating. I don't have an allegiance to any manufacturer so long as one of them has the product I want.

Ford F-150s are NOT manufactured in Mexico. They are built in Dearborn and Kansas city.
